& Sons of Destiny”
The Louise Patterson Pageant
Scoring
Components
Scores will be given in the following categories:
Financial Excellence, Introduction, Talent,
Church Scene, and Question & Answer. The
scores will be totaled and awards given per
the award schedule.
Financial
Excellence
Each applicant must submit an entry fee of $200.00
(two hundred dollars) by June 15, 2006
All remaining monies are due Wednesday, July
5, 2006, by 12:00 noon at the AIM Convention.
This category will determine the crowning of
the “Daughter & Son of Destiny.”
This category will determine the top 3 scholarship
prizes (see award schedule pg 9).
Introduction
In the introduction, participants will verbally
give their name , Jurisdiction, Prelate and
Supervisor along with a personal statement including
favorite scripture & aspiration.
Participants will receive a score reflecting
their ability to make eye contact with the audience,
project their voices, poise, body language,
and articulation.
Participants will be presented in formal attire
Maximum points = 15
Talent
A talent exhibition will be presented during
the pageant. Applicants will present their God-given
gift during the talent portion of the pageant.
The talent presentation should range from 2
to 31/2 minutes in length.
Points will be awarded based on creativity,
accuracy, ability to capture the audience and
adherence to time.
Talent attire is appropriate and at the discretion
of the participant.

Dress
for Success
The
clothing that we wear affects career opportunities
and income. Image communicates volumes before
a word is spoken. From a meeting to a picnic,
how we dress up or down determines the level
of respect we receive, the trust we inspire
and our projection of personal power.
The dress for success exhibition is an opportunity
for participants to display their own creativity
and style in the area of business and casual.
No pants please (ladies)
Attire at the discretion of the participant
Ladies: this may include crisp, cotton shirts,
cardigan twin sets, casual coordinate sets,
skirts, and dresses (knee length please). Fashionable
scarves or jewelry always add a nice touch.
No pants please.
Gentlemen:
this may include a sport coat or blazer, traditional
dress slacks, khakis, and linen slacks, casual
button-down oxford or golf shirts. No shorts
or earrings please.

Church
Scene
The saints are coming! With joy and excitement,
we “enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
and into His courts with praise.” We present
our best as we come to celebrate the King.
The
Church Scene exhibition is an opportunity for
participants to display their own creativity
and style in the area of church wear.
Maximum points = 15
Question
& Answer
In the question and answer exhibition, participants
will select from a pool of random questions.
Participants will receive points reflecting
their ability to make eye contact with the audience
and judges, project their voices, articulation,
timeliness of response and soundness of thought.
(Biblical references are always a plus!)

Patterson Pageant Award Schedule
Pageant
prizes will be awarded in scholarship form according
to the following schedule:
1)
The Daughter & Son of Destiny (Mr. or Miss.
Sunday School) ages 16-23 & Junior Mr. &
Junior Miss Sunday School ages 11-15.
The
Crowning
The top male (age 16-23) in the category of
financial excellence will be crowned “The Son
of Destiny” (Mr. Sunday School).
The top male (age 11-15) in the category of
financial excellence will be crowned “Junior
Mr. Sunday School”
The top female (age 16-23) in the category of
financial excellence will be crowned the “Daughter
of Destiny” (Miss Sunday School).
The top female (age 11-15) in the category of
financial excellence will be crowned the “Junior
Miss Sunday School.”
Scholarship
Awards
First Place- The individuals for first place
in the category of financial excellence (male
& female) will receive a scholarship in
the amount of $1000.00 (one thousand dollars)
each and a trophy
Second Place- The individuals for second place
in the category of financial excellence (male
& female) will receive a scholarship in
the amount of $500.00 (five hundred dollars)
each and a trophy.
Third place- The third place individual in the
category of financial excellence (male and female)
will receive a special gift and a trophy
A
total of 4 scholarships will be awarded
Talent
Mr. & Miss Talent- Trophies awarded in each
division to male and female participant scoring
highest in the talent exhibition. The score
for the introduction will break a tie in this
category.
High Achievers
Mr. & Miss High Achievers- Trophies awarded
to male and female participants with highest
cumulative GPA. GPA’sx must be documented by
transcript accompanying application and reviewed
by the committee.
Mr. & Miss Congeniality
Participants will vote among themselves to award
the following trophy.
All participants will receive gift items to
celebrate their taking part.
